COACH MCDANIEL INTRODUCTION:

Hi there! It’s Coach McDaniel welcoming you back to the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Mrs. McDaniel, I am the Wellness Teacher here at DMHS and the very proud assistant coach for the Ram’s Swim Team. I have been an educator for over 15 years and joined the amazing staff here at DMHS in 2018. I received the title of “coach” during the 2020 swim season. My first year coaching was one of the most amazing experiences in my career. Joining this group of talented athletes under the leadership of Coach Lutz taught me so much and I am so excited to continue on this journey with them!
On a personal note, I was born and raised in San Diego. I graduated from Helix High School in 1999 (wow, you do the math!) I went on to receive my Bachelors degree from San Diego State University- Go AZTECS! Upon graduation I moved to Northern California to pursue my Master’s degree and ended up spending the next 14 years there. I got married, started a family and began my teaching career in Sacramento, Ca. I have two children, Jordan (10) and Juliana (6) who keep me very busy outside of work. My husband and I made the decision to relocate to the valley in 2018 where we are now closer to our families.
When I am not working or coaching I enjoy being active outdoors, reading, baking, and logging miles on my indoor bike!
